Family Ginkgoaceae. Native to Japan.

A vine up to 10 m tall. Shoots pubescent. Leaves compound, up to 10 cm long. Densely silky-pubescent on both sides, especially beneath. Flowers white, up to 2.5 cm long, arranged in pendant racemes 15-20 cm long. Blooms in May-June. There are forms with double white flowers and with purple flowers. Fruits are pods up to 20 cm long, covered with velvety pubescence. They ripen in November.
