Grape 'Zarya Nesvetaya'
Vitis vinifera L.
Obtained from: Talisma x Cardinal. Obtained by E.G. Pavlovsky
Grape Zarya Nesvetaya (Vitis vinifera L.) – a hybrid form of table grape or an early-ripening variety; from bud break to full ripening it takes 100-105 days. Ripens in late July.
Vines are vigorous; canes ripen well over 80% of their length. Flowers are hermaphroditic, pollination occurs without problems. Shoot fruitfulness is high; each shoot can set up to 3 clusters.
Berries are large, weighing 10-12 grams, with crisp, firm flesh. Their shape is oval, almost round. The taste is rich and refreshing, with a muscat aroma and fruity notes. Some tasters note a certain astringency that adds refinement.
The skin is dense and thin, of a deep burgundy color, covered with a light bloom. There are few seeds, only 1-2. Clusters are large, conical, compact, weighing 600-1000 grams. Appearance and taste are exceptionally marketable.
The crop ripens early, in 100-105 days, by the end of July. Clusters can remain on the vine after ripening. In that case the crispness of the flesh diminishes, but firmness remains. Sugar content also increases, while the muscat aroma decreases. Berry transportability is good, although by some reports berries may not adhere tightly to the peduncles.
Frost hardiness: -23°C

Location: undemanding to soil, but grows better on light, sufficiently moist ground. The plant is drought-tolerant. Not sensitive to waterlogging.
Planting and care: similar to that of cultivated grape. Planting scheme: З x 0,75 m
Pruning: Load on the vine 55—60 buds. Pruning of fruiting canes to 8–10 buds.
Training: trunk fan with a trunk height of 80-100 cm. In some places it performs well in a pergola.
Diseases and pests: high resistance to downy mildew, anthracnose and gray rot can be anticipated.
Propagation: cuttings root well. Has proven excellent in grafted cultivation.
Uses: Fruits are consumed fresh and have high transportability.
