Derived from: Moldova x Cardinal. Obtained at the IViV named after V.E. Tairov, Ukraine.

Synonym: Nastya

The grape «Arkadia» – Ripening period very early; from budbreak to full ripeness it takes 115-125 days.

Vines of medium and strong vigor. Shoots ripen to 56%. Fruit-bearing shoots 55-75%. The tip of a young shoot is yellow-green in color, with a widely open apex. Leaves large, five-lobed, pentagonal, deeply dissected, with slight arachnoid pubescence. Upper leaf surface dark green, matte, slightly blistered. Color of lower and upper veins light green. Petiole green with an anthocyanin tinge, longer than the midrib. Petiole sinus with slightly overlapping lobes, closed, with a triangular or ovate gap. Lateral sinuses closed, deep, with a flat bottom and a triangular gap. Terminal teeth acute, triangular, with straight sides, medium-sized. Lower leaf surface with slight arachnoid pubescence.

Flower hermaphroditic. Pollinates Talisman and Lora well. Clusters large and very large, weighing 500-700 (2000) g, of medium looseness or dense, cylindro-conical, with shoulders. Berries large and very large, 28x23 mm and more, weighing 7-15 g, ovoid or heart-shaped, white in color with a slight amber tint, covered with a white waxy bloom. Flavor unobtrusive, simple, harmonious. Flesh meaty-juicy. Skin sturdy, not thick. At full ripeness a light muscat aroma may appear. Berries may crack under high humidity. Berries taste better when grown on their own roots.

Has a high capacity for sugar accumulation.

Yield very high, more than 20 kg per vine.

Sugar content 15-16%, with acidity 4-6 g/l.

Tasting score of fresh harvest – 8.2 points.

Fruitfulness coefficient 1.1-1.5.

Hardiness zone: -21°C

Location: not demanding to soil, but grows better on light, sufficiently moist, well-warmed and well-drained soil. SAT = 2800°C.

Planting and care: similar to that for cultivated grape. Planting scheme: 2x2 m. Responds well to fertilization. When grafted and fed with nitrogen may exhibit strong vegetative growth.

Pruning: long and short pruning, to 8-12 buds. Load per vine 35-45 buds, over time the load is increased to 55 buds. Cluster thinning is mandatory.

Training: fan-shaped four-arm training. Can be trained as cordons with pruning to 2-4 buds.

Diseases and pests: Resistance to downy mildew – 2.5 points, gray rot – 1 point, powdery mildew – 3.0 points, root phylloxera – 3.5 points, leaf phylloxera – 1.5 points. It is recommended to perform 1-2 preventive treatments against powdery mildew and downy mildew.

Propagation: cuttings root very well. Root system develops well. Seedlings take root quickly and enter fruiting early. Compatible with most rootstocks.

Use: Fruits consumed fresh, have high transportability and excellent marketable appearance. Can be used in single-variety plantings. A popular commercial variety.
