Obtained from: Arkadia × Atlant Zaporozhsky. Breeder – V.V. Zagorulko, Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.

Grape Liya is a hybrid form of table grape, early-ripening. From budburst to full ripening takes 110-115 days. It was bred recently and is still under testing.

Shoots vigorous, canes ripen well. Flowers hermaphroditic. Pollinates very well.

Clusters large and very large, 400-800 g, can reach 1.5-2 kg, conical, of medium density, without millerandage. Berries large, weighing 8-14 g and measuring 31 x 36 mm, similar to the berries of the variety Talisman, but much more attractive, from oval to ovoid in shape. Skin of medium thickness, yellowish-green or yellowish-pink, not noticeable when eating. Flesh dense, slightly firm, juicy, with a harmonious flavor. Can remain on the vine for a fairly long time without loss of marketability and taste qualities. Not damaged by wasps. Light cracking of berries may be observed after heavy rains.

Yield high; from one vine you can obtain 15 kg or more.

Hardiness zone: 6a (buds in the eyes withstand down to -21 °C). Winter protection is recommended.

Site: not demanding on soil, but grows better on light, sufficiently moist ground. The plant is drought-tolerant.

Planting and care: similar to those for cultivated grapevines.

Pruning: vines vigorous. Prune fruiting canes to 8-10 buds.

Diseases and pests: Resistance to downy mildew – 3.5-4.0 points, to powdery mildew – 3.5 points.

Propagation: cuttings root well.

Uses: Fruits are consumed fresh and used for processing, have good transportability and excellent marketable appearance. A promising form for amateur grape growing.
