Back to catalogue

Grape Vostorg– a table grape variety of very early ripening (110-120 days). Obtained at the Russian VNIIViV named after Ya.I. Potapenko, by crossing the varieties Заря Севера х Долорес + Русский ранний. Medium-strong growth. Shoot ripening is good. Fruit-bearing shoots 65-85%, number of clusters per shoot - 1.4-1.7. The variety is high-yielding, average yield 120 centners per hectare.

Clusters are conical in shape, often deformed, large and very large, reaching 531-2000 g, of moderate density. Berries large and very large, 27 mm long and 24 mm wide, weighing 6-7 g, slightly oval, white, often with a blush on the sunny side, of a pleasant harmonious taste. Skin moderately dense, practically not felt when eating. Flesh crisp, juicy. Sugar accumulation is high, 19-26%, with acidity 5-9 g/l. Berries remain on the bushes for 1–1.5 months without loss of commercial and taste qualities. Clusters transport well.

Winter hardiness zone 6a (buds in the eyes withstand down to -25 °C)

Location: not demanding to soil, but grows better on light, sufficiently moist soils. The plant is drought-resistant. Recommended for cultivation in the northern regions of Ukraine.

Planting: similar to that for cultivated grape.

Care: responds well to timely irrigation, as well as to increased doses of mineral and organic fertilizers and feedings.

Pruning: load per vine 35-45 buds, when pruning fruiting canes to 6-10 buds. Fruitfulness of buds at the base of the bush is high, allowing pruning to 2-4 buds. Clusters of 1.5-2 kg are obtained with a moderate bud load of 20-30 buds per mature vine, and with a good reserve of perennial wood. Arch-shaped training is recommended.

Diseases and pests: resistant to downy mildew and gray rot. Susceptible to phylloxera.

Propagation: cuttings root satisfactorily. Best vines are obtained in grafted culture on vigorous rootstocks. As a rootstock it is recommended to use Берландиери x Рипариа Кобер 5ББ.

Use: Fruits are consumed fresh, have good transportability and excellent marketable appearance. Recommended for cultivation in an uncovered culture with a small risk of light damage to bushes during the winter period.
