Aramis grape
Vitis vinifera L
Aramis grape – an amateur-bred grape variety. Obtained by E.G. Pavlovsky in Russia from the varieties Talisman + Cardinal and pollen of various varieties. Ripening time early-midseason (120-125 days). Ripens in mid-late August. Vines are vigorous.
Flowers are hermaphroditic. The shoot ripens well, almost along the entire length of new growth.
Clusters are large, 600-800 g and more, cylindro-conical in shape, medium density, even without irrigation. Berries are large, reaching 6-7 g, red-purple in color, round. Skin is thin, practically unnoticeable when eaten. Flesh is firm, with a pleasant harmonious taste and a slight muscat note. Sugar content 16-19%, acidity 4-6 g/l. Optimal load per vine – 30-35 buds. High transportability.
Frost hardiness zone 6a (down to -24 °C)
Site: not demanding of soil, but grows better on light, sufficiently moist ground. The plant is drought-tolerant.
Planting and care: similar to those for cultivated grape varieties.
Pruning: it is recommended to prune fruiting canes to 6-8 buds
Diseases and pests: resistance to downy mildew at the level of 3.0 points. Resistance to powdery mildew is under study. Resistance to other diseases at 2.5 points.
Propagation: cuttings root well
Uses: Fruits are consumed fresh, and used for drying and processing. It is noted for its excellent dessert taste and good transportability.
