Back to catalogue

Obtained from: V-70-90 x Shalfeyny

Kishmish Prozrachny (Vitis) – an ancient form of grape of early or very early ripening. Harvest occurs in mid-July. Performs better on large training systems and vigorous rootstocks. Vines are medium-vigorous. Shoots ripen well.

Bunches large to very large, weighing 500-1000 g. Berries large, 27x23 mm, weighing 6 g, ovoid-conical, translucent white, becoming translucent amber in the sun. Flesh meaty with a sage-muscat flavor. Skin tender, edible. Sugar content 17-21%, acidity 6-8 g/l. Ripe berries may be damaged by wasps. Yield high and stable. Bunches tolerate transportation well.

Hardiness zone: 5-8 (-25°C).

Location: not demanding to soil, but grows better on light, well-warmed and well-drained ground.

Planting and care: similar to that for cultivated grape. Use of gibberellin after fruit set is recommended to increase berry size and even out berry size. Spacing between vines at least 2.5-3 m. Preferable to grow grafted onto vigorous rootstocks with moderate shoot load and removal of poorly developed shoots.

Pruning: recommended to train as a two-arm cordon on trunks 80 cm high. Pruning of fruiting canes is carried out leaving 6-8 buds. Average load per vine 40-45 buds.

Diseases and pests: disease resistance high, 2.5-3 points

Propagation: good compatibility with rootstocks

Uses: has a high content of coloring and tannic substances, therefore recommended for blended, richly colored table juices, fortified and dessert wines.
