Obtained from: ZOS-1 x Kodryanka. Author: V. V. Zagorulko, Ukraine

Grape Viking (Vitis) – a table grape hybrid form of very early ripening (100 – 110 days). Obtained by crossing the table varieties ZOS-1 and Kodryanka. Breeder - V. V. Zagorulko.

Vines vigorous. Leaf large, five-lobed, with an open petiole sinus. Flower hermaphroditic.

Clusters large, conical, medium-loose, weighing 800-900 g. Berries large, measuring 22 mm x 34 mm, shape elongated-ovoid or nipple-shaped, dark blue in color. Berry flesh dense, juicy, with a harmonious flavor, with subtle notes of prune, Hungarian plum, and hints of cherry. The berry skin is not noticeable when eaten. Under the conditions of the Zaporizhzhia region, clusters ripen 3—4 days earlier than the variety Kodryanka. Can remain on the vine until the end of September.

Winter hardiness zone: 5-8 (-20°C). Requires winter protection.

Site: not demanding on soil, but grows better on light, sufficiently moist, well-warmed and well-drained soil.

Planting and care: similar to that for cultivated grape. It is recommended to use gibberellin after fruit set to increase berry size and even out berry size.

Pruning: Bud load 30-40 buds per vine with subsequent removal of excess shoots during the first thinning; prune canes to 6-8 buds. Bud fruitfulness at the base of shoots is high — short pruning to 3-4 buds can be performed.

Diseases and pests: increased resistance to fungal diseases.

Propagation: Rooting ability of cuttings is average.

Uses: suitable for amateur and commercial cultivation. High transportability, excellent marketable appearance. Yield high and stable. Excellent taste quality.
