Family: Figwort family. Native to eastern North America.

Virginia speedwell up to 130 cm tall. Shrub sturdy. Leaves lanceolate, lush green, arranged in whorls. Flowers white or blue, gathered in a paniculate inflorescence up to 15 cm long. Blooms from June to August. In cultivation since 1714.

Has cultivars:

'Alba' - 175 cm tall with white flowers;
'Rosea' - 160 cm tall with pink flowers.
