Family Scrophulariaceae. Grows wild in the mountains of Southern and Central Europe.

A plant up to 50 cm tall. Leaves small, entire, glabrous above, pubescent beneath. Flowers vary in color from blue to white, gathered in dense raceme-like inflorescences up to 7 cm long. Blooms from May for 40–45 days. Prefers calcareous soils. Has various cultivars. For example: 'Кснигсблау', 'Роял Блю', 'Трус Блю' and others.
