Family Caprifoliaceae. Occurs naturally in central China.
An evergreen, low shrub (up to 1.5 m), with thin, twig-like lateral branches; young shoots yellowish- or gray-woolly, later becoming glabrous, reddish-brown. Leaves ovate-elliptic or oblong, up to 7 cm long, apex blunt or acute, margins entire, dark green above, glabrous, shiny, whitish beneath, stellate-woolly with an admixture of brown hairs, with 5–6 pairs of veins projecting on the underside. Inflorescences up to 8 cm in diameter, densely pubescent, flowers white, up to 0.8 cm. Fruits bluish-black.
Heat-loving, grows better with some shading and watering. Ornamental shrub with attractive foliage and delicate white flowers.
