Family Caprifoliaceae. Native to Central and Western China.

Evergreen shrub up to 3 m tall, with erect, densely woolly-pubescent shoots. Leaves thick, from ovate-elliptic to narrowly lanceolate, glabrous, glossy, wrinkled, reticulate beneath, covered with a thick gray or yellowish felt, margins entire, up to 19 cm long. Flowers yellowish-gray, in terminal, corymb-like inflorescences, up to 20 cm across; buds appear in autumn, but they flower in the spring of the following year. Fruits ovoid, small, initially red, then black, glossy, up to 0.8 cm.

Wrinkled-leaved viburnum

This shrub grows very quickly. Shade-tolerant. Undemanding as to soil. Drought-tolerant. Good in specimen plantings and small loose groups.
