Ibelmannia

Family Asphodelaceae. The plant occurs in the mountainous regions of southern Brazil on quartz slopes rich in humus (its formation requires moisture, warmth and the abundant vegetation that appears during the rainy season).

The minimum temperature for this species is +15°C even in winter. It also requires a very acidic soil mix rich in humus. Three other cultivated species of this genus require the same care.
