Back to catalogue

Family Orchidaceae. In sparse deciduous forests, on glades, among shrub thickets, occasionally in meadows, and along the forest edge in the Russian Far East (southern Primorye, western Priamurie) one can encounter тулотис уссурийскую, sometimes forming fairly large aggregations.

The plant is 18-40 cm tall with subterranean stolon-like organs. In the lower part of the stem there are 2 leaves, oblong, narrowed toward the base, up to 13 cm long. The inflorescence is rather dense, cylindrical. Bracts linear, approximately equal to the flowers. Flowers small, whitish-green. The outer perianth segments are oval, up to 3.5 mm, the inner ones narrowly oval, rather thick. The lip is three-lobed, about 3 mm long, its middle lobe wider than the lateral lobes. The spur is thin, slightly curved, up to 7 mm long. Blooms in July–August.
