White clover

Trifolium repens L.

Back to catalogue

Legume family. A low-growing plant with a highly branched root system. Special nodules with bacteria that fix nitrogen from the air develop on the roots. It helps stabilize turf well thanks to creeping, rooting shoots. The main stem is shortened, 1-4 cm long, leaves are trifoliate, with obovate leaflets 1-2 cm long. Light-loving, does not tolerate shading, suffers in dense stands.
