Spring tamarisk

Occurs in Southeastern Europe. A hardy shrub or small tree up to 4 m, with thin, pendulous, reddish-brown branches that turn black in winter. The leaves are scale-like. The flowers are pale pink, in May. They appear in short racemes on the old shoots.
