Sinadenium
Synadenium
Spurge family. The plant belongs to the spurge family. An exceptionally hardy and resilient houseplant reaching about a meter or more in height. The form with bright green leaves is the most common, but sometimes a form with dark red leaves can be found.
Care of Sinadenium: Requires well-lit locations near east- or west-facing windows. Grows very quickly. Tends to grow upright as a single "stick." Therefore periodic pinching of the buds is desirable to encourage branching. As with other spurges, it has a milky sap that is irritating. It practically does not flower in cultivation. Does not like excessive watering. It is much better if it is occasionally "forgotten," so that the soil can at least sometimes dry out. Therefore this plant is quite often found in public institutions where plants are not tended to very actively. Such care is precisely what Sinadenium needs. All the more so since the plant tolerates a drop in temperature to 8-10 degrees Celsius in winter.

It is recommended to fertilize in spring and autumn. It is propagated by cuttings, which root easily in water. It is better to plant several cuttings in one pot so that the bush is denser.
