Indoor plants
Selaginella
Selaginella
Family: clubmosses. Native to the tropics of the Americas. This is a rather delicate and demanding plant that does not tolerate drafts and dry indoor air; nevertheless it is successfully grown by houseplant enthusiasts.
Selaginella Martens - Selaginella martensii - a small bush with erect stems up to 30 cm tall. With age the stems become prostrate and aerial roots appear. The branches resemble fern fronds with small thin green leaves. There are varieties with silvery-white stem tips.
Selaginella lepidophylla - an amusing plant that can be found for sale in a dry form — it looks like a shriveled light ball of dry leaves; however, when watered and placed in a humid environment it opens up and forms a small bush with tiny green leaves.
