Family Caprifoliaceae. North America - eastern, central and western regions. Forms thickets on open slopes, on wooded rocky shores, along streams and rivers.
Shrub up to 1.5 m high. At 3 years height 0.8 m, crown diameter 80-100 cm. Vegetation from late April to late October. Growth rate medium. Flowers and fruits from 3 years, annually, abundantly. Flowers from early July to late August, about 50 days, individual flowers bloom 10-14 days. Fruits ripen in September. In severe winters it is partially damaged by frost. Seed viability 96%, germination 18%.
