Family Rosaceae. Native to the eastern United States.

A semi-shrub clinging to supports up to 2 m high. Shoots arching, long, glandular-pubescent with strong straight or curved-back prickles. Leaves consist of five or (on flowering shoots) of three obovate leaflets. The central leaflet reaches up to 20 cm in length; the underside of the leaves is hairy. Flowers white, up to 3 cm in diameter, forming paniculate inflorescences up to 20 cm long. Fruits black, sweet, ripen in August.

Allegheny blackberry

They are spherical or elongated in shape. Their size does not exceed 1.5 cm.
