Rubus
Family Rosaceae. This enormous genus contains up to 600 species of blackberries and raspberries that share the Latin name Rubus and belong to the rose family (Rosaceae). They grow widely in the temperate zones of Europe, Asia, America and Australia and include both edible and ornamental plants. Most of them are subshrubs, and only some are capable of forming long shoots that attach to supports by means of thorns.
