Rebutia
Rebutia
Family Cactaceae. Native to Argentina and Bolivia. Rebutia minuscula - with a globular light-green stem, flattened on top, 5 cm in diameter. Ribs 16-20. Spines white, very small, up to 30 radial ones, no central spines. Easily flowers with large red blooms and, without cross-pollination, sets red little balls — berries.
A characteristic feature of this species is that the ripe berries burst open inconspicuously, and you notice it when numerous seeds have scattered everywhere and small elongated rebutias with microscopic spines — very hardy — appear. Flowers in spring and early summer with red flowers up to 4 cm in diameter.
Rebutia heliosa - is an absolutely unusual Rebutia in shape and beauty; its stems branch heavily and form incredible coral-like growths about 2.5 cm wide and 2–3 cm high. Small, frequent silvery spines lie close to the stem. Blooms with bright orange flowers about 4 cm in diameter and 4 cm in height.
Rebutia pygmaea - grows in colonies, with an elongated ribbed stem of oval or cylindrical shape, about 3 cm wide and 4 cm high with tiny spines. Flowers salmon-colored, about 2 cm in diameter; flowering in late spring to early summer.
Rebutia krainziana - 4 cm high, 5 cm in diameter, light-green stem with large areoles (much more noticeable than in other Rebutias) with whitish spines up to 5 mm. Flowers light red up to 3 cm in diameter. Synonym Rebutia marsoneri.
