Family Convolvulaceae. Native to northern China.

Perennial herbaceous climbing plant, reaching up to 400 cm in height. Flowers bell-shaped, pink-white, double, 7-8 cm in diameter. Blooms abundantly in June–July. Fruit a dry, one-chambered capsule with a single seed. In cultivation since 1844. Hardy, but in severe snowless winters needs earthing up or covering with leaves.
