Nectarine Rubinovy – a nectarine cultivar, bred at the State Nikitsky Botanical Garden in 1973 by breeders E.P. Shoferistov, V.K. Smykov, V.P. Orekhova. It is a medium-vigour tree with a rounded crown. The cultivar is self-fertile. Flowers are rose-type.
It begins fruiting early, in the 2-3rd year after planting. It fruits well on all types of shoots. Yield is high; under good conditions it can reach 45 kg per tree. The cultivar is mid-early in ripening; maturity occurs in late July – early August.
Fruits are very large, 150-200 g, oval in shape. The apex is rounded, the ventral suture is shallow, in the form of a groove. Skin medium, shiny, glabrous, difficult to peel from the fruit. The skin surface is yellow, streaked, covered with a bright carmine blush that covers 70-100% of the whole fruit. Flesh yellow with a reddish tint, juicy, melting, finely fibrous, pleasantly sweetish in taste with a slight acidity. The stone separates poorly from the flesh.
Fruits have an excellent marketable appearance and good transportability.

Planting, care and pruning: same as for peach.
Diseases and pests: susceptible to leaf curl and powdery mildew.
Uses: fruits are consumed fresh and also used for processing.
