Spreading plum 'Нигра'

Appearance: a large shrub or small tree, 5-8 m tall, 3-5 m wide, initially conical, then broadly rounded, slow-growing, 20-30 cm per year.

Flowers: before or with leaf unfolding, pink, in May.

Fruits: juicy, tart, large, dark-red plums.

Leaves: elliptic, richly dark red, intense coloration, do not fade.

Root system: superficial, does not form suckers, sensitive to compaction.

Requirements: sun/partial shade, prefers warmth, winter-hardy, suitable for urban conditions, sensitive to wind.

Soils: relatively dry or moist, fertile, alkaline loams.
