Family Rosaceae. A low-growing perennial groundcover with evergreen leaves.

Shoots woody at the base, 5-30 cm tall. Leaves compound-lobed, dark green, partially turning yellow-orange in autumn. White flowers about 8 mm in diameter in showy inflorescences appear in summer. Used as a groundcover plant or for solitary planting in a rock garden. The photograph shows the cultivar 'Nuuk'.
