Family Rosaceae. Native to the mountainous regions of Western Europe and Asia Minor.
Perennial plant up to 20 cm tall. Leaves palmately divided, glossy, leaflets silky-pubescent along the veins on the underside and with serrated margins. Flowers large, golden-yellow, in few-flowered inflorescences. Blooms in the second half of summer for about two months.
