Flowers for the garden

Deceptive cinquefoil

Potentilla ambigua camb.

Back to catalogue

Family Rosaceae. A Himalayan perennial species.

It reaches a height of 6-8 cm, flowers from June to August and is completely undemanding. Likes sandy soil and a sunny spot, where it quickly forms relatively large mats. Stems are prostrate, becoming woody at the base. Thin shoots penetrate under stones, and it may happen that their leaves unexpectedly intrude into a dense cushion, for example, of saxifrages. In this case it's better to transplant the plant to another spot.
