Appearance: medium-sized tree 10–15 m tall, 6–10 m wide, crown open, ovate, somewhat asymmetrical, numerous suckers, growth rate initially 60–80 cm, later 20–40 cm per year.
Flowers: dioecious, in attractive silvery catkins, before leaf emergence, April, fruit inconspicuous.
Leaves: round with long petioles, bronze when unfolding, then green, in autumn – from bright yellow to orange.
Root system: flat, somewhat deepened, constantly produces suckers.
Requirements: sun/partial shade, tolerates high temperatures, winter-hardy, wind-resistant, suitable for urban conditions.
Soils: on any rich or poor substrates, acidic or alkaline.
