Populus candicans

Back to catalogue

Family Salicaceae. 'Aurora'. Tree medium-sized (up to 9 m) with broad, oval leaves up to 10-12 cm long.

Large-leaved poplar prefers full sun. In severe winters young shoots may suffer frost damage. It's better to plant it in sheltered locations. Tolerates urban conditions. It performs best when grown with heavy pruning in early spring. A beautiful, dense shrub forms with vigorous shoots, on which the variegation is especially well displayed.
