Family Araliaceae. Native to the tropical regions of South and East Asia.

Perennial plant with very striking large many-times divided leaves and robust petioles that clasp the stem, reaching a height of 2.5 m. The unusually complex leaves, up to 15 cm long, have a sharply toothed shape, giving them a feather-like appearance. Flowers are small and inconspicuous, gathered in a terminal panicle inflorescence. Over time the plant grows into an upright bush.
