Family: Grasses. Native to: North and Central America. Prairies with tall grasses.

A beautiful grass with a dense, fluffy panicle of silvery-green color, still little known to garden enthusiasts. An annual, multi-stemmed plant 30 - 50 cm high. Dense fluffy panicles 10 - 12 cm long rise above numerous leaves forming a "tuft". Blooms in June - July.

Location: the plant is cold-hardy, relatively shade-tolerant, undemanding to soils, but does not tolerate excess moisture.
