Family Polypodiaceae. Native range - New Zealand, Australia, Norfolk Island.
Rhizome creeping, branched, covered with brown scales. Leaves pinnately divided, dark green, glabrous, leathery, thin. In indoor conditions and greenhouses it rarely produces spores. Sporangia in a single row, closer to the margin, rounded. The leaf surface is uneven, pustulate.
