Family of polypods. Native range - South America.

Plant with a short thick creeping rhizome, covered with soft golden-brown scales. Leaves pinnately divided, oval in outline, on long (up to 1 m) petioles. The leaf blade is large (over 1 m long), glabrous, slightly glaucous. Segments linear-lanceolate, pointed at the apex. Sori golden-orange, rounded or slightly elongated, positioned in 1 or 2 rows between the midrib and the margin of the leaf.
