Poa trivialis L.
Family Poaceae. Perennial grass with a rhizomatous type of tillering. Forms a dense, bright-green sward, but in terms of vegetative development is considerably inferior to meadow bluegrass. It reaches full development in the 2nd year; lifespan in the sward up to 7 years. Regrowth after mowing is slow. Demanding of moisture and soils, shade-tolerant, resistant to low temperatures and trampling.
