Wood bluegrass
Poa nemoralis L.
Family Poaceae. A perennial semi-upright grass with a loose-tufted type of tillering, forming loose sods. In the year of sowing the rate of growth and development is comparatively high; it reaches full development in the 2nd year; lifespan in the sward is 5-6 years. It differs from meadow bluegrass by having greater shade tolerance.
Recommended for establishing meadow-type lawns in parks and forest parks, predominantly in shade, under the canopy of woodland plantings, as well as for parterre (formal) and ordinary lawns under shaded conditions.
