Appearance: reaches 10–15 m in height and 8–10 m in width, crown rounded, slow-growing, 30–40 cm per year.
Flowers: monoecious, male flowers in catkins at the base of the leaves on last year's shoots, female – at the tips of young shoots.
Fruits: in August, a drupe with a fleshy green husk, 2-3 cm, slightly sticky.
Leaves: odd-pinnate, 20-30 cm long, in autumn – golden-yellow.
Root system: deep, tolerates flooding, sensitive to transplanting.
Requirements: full sun/partial shade, warmth-loving, tolerates drought well, not sufficiently winter-hardy, suitable for urban conditions, not wind-resistant.
Soils: from dry to moist, for good development needs deep, fertile, adequately moist soil.
Note: prune in late summer or winter.
