PIERIS

PIERIS

Back to catalogue

Heath family. Pieris is an ornamental flowering shrub of the heath family. It blooms in early spring. For about a month it delights with stunning inflorescences reminiscent of dense lily-of-the-valley. It can grow in considerable shade. Occasionally the plant needs to be sprayed.

Watering should be regular, without prolonged drying out or waterlogging. Fertilizing is done every two weeks. Cold wintering stimulates flowering. Before the start of the growing season, the bush should be pruned thoroughly so that young shoots form. Transplant as needed. Propagate by cuttings in a greenhouse.
