Family Pteridaceae. Native range - New Zealand. Grows on stones and rocks.

Rhizome creeping, covered with scales. Leaves once-pinnate, 20-30 cm long, 4 cm wide. Petioles covered with brown scales. Segments 10-20 pairs, rounded or elliptic, entire-margined, glabrous, leathery, dark green, on short (1 mm) petiolules. Sori broad-linear, along the leaf margin, covered by the reflexed margins of the leaves, which perform the function of an indusium.
