Family Pteridaceae. Perennial herbaceous plant with a creeping stem.

Leaves twice- or thrice-pinnate, in a basal rosette, up to 60 cm long, 30 cm wide, triangular in outline, on long reddish-brown petioles. Segments triangular or broadly lanceolate, asymmetrical, with entire margins. Sporangia are arranged in a continuous line along the edge of the segments. Native range - Africa, Madagascar, Mascarene Islands.
