Pallas's Pine
Р. pallasiana Lamb.
Family Pinaceae. Native to the mountains of Crimea and the northern part of the Black Sea coast.
A tree up to 30 m tall, with a pyramidal crown when young and an umbrella-shaped crown in mature trees. The needles are prickly and somewhat curved, in bundles of 2, up to 15 cm long, dark green, finely serrated along the margin, and densely cover the shoots. Thanks to its long, up to 18 cm, dark green needles and the dense foliage of the crown, it is very ornamental and can be successfully used in single and group plantings in gardens and parks on sandy, rocky, and calcareous soils.
