Flowers: white raceme-like inflorescences on the upper parts of the shoots.
Fruits: of little ornamental value.
Leaves: evergreen, obovate, 5-8 cm long, dark green and glossy.
Root system: superficial, forms suckers, sensitive to soil compaction.
Requirements: partial shade/shade, cool moist sites, relatively hardy, sensitive to wind.
Soils: well-drained, fresh or moist, acidic or slightly alkaline; does not grow on heavy soils.
