Family Hyacinthaceae. Native to Japan.

This plant has long-petioled leaves. The petiole is almost arcuate in cross-section. The leaves are oblong-cordate, with 8-10 pairs of veins. The margins of the leaf blade are wavy. The leaves are firm, but thinner than those of Hosta sieboldiana. The upper surface of the leaves is dark green, slightly glossy, the lower - matte. The scape is leafless, with flat pale yellow-green bracts. The racemes are long, narrowing upwards. The flowers are tubular, with partially split petals, light lilac. It blooms in early summer. Fruits regularly.
