Clematis montana

A very healthy and fast-growing Clematis reaching 8 m in height with bronze-green leaves. Shoots are purple. Flowers are pink-red, 5 to 6 cm in diameter. Blooms from June until late autumn.

Height 6-9 m. The crown is airy, branches thin. Leaves 12-15 cm long, compound, consisting of 3 bronze-green sticky leaflets. Flowering is abundant in May-June. Fruits are inconspicuous. Requires fertile soils, does not tolerate waterlogging or drought. Needs light pruning.
