Apple Greencats (Malus domestica Greencats) – a new autumn-ripening cultivar of European selection.

It is a compact tree 2-3 m in height and 0.4-0.5 m in width with a compact columnar crown. Lateral branches are short, arising at a right angle from the trunk.

Blooms in April–May; flowers are large and white.

Fruits are above medium to large, 22 x 35 cm, round-conical or round, bright green in color, sometimes with a small, diffuse reddish-orange blush on the sunny side; visually similar to Granny Smith (Granny Smith). Skin is of medium thickness, glossy and smooth. Flesh is crisp, dense, of excellent sweet-tart flavor and a spicy aroma. Harvest and eating maturity is reached in mid-September. In cold storage they keep until February without loss of flavor or attractive appearance. Fruits have high transportability.

Best pollinators: Goldcats, Redcats.

Hardiness zone 5b (down to -27°C)

Location: prefers sunny sites or light partial shade. Requires a pollinator.

Pruning: does not require pruning.

Diseases and pests: high resistance to scab, canker and powdery mildew.

Uses: fruits are eaten fresh and used in cooking. The tree is suitable for container cultivation on a balcony, patio or small gardens. Ideal for organic farming.
