Apple KOOP-10
Mālus Co-op 10
The apple cultivar KOOP-10 was introduced from the USA. It originated from a cross between the varieties Starking Delicious and Williams in 1972. A medium-vigour tree with a rounded crown. The best pollinators – Priscilla and Aydared. It enters the fruiting period in the 3rd–4th year after planting. It fruits on spurs and spur-bearing shoots. Fruits are large, up to 300 g, uniform, correctly conical in shape. They ripen in late September – early October, about 4 weeks after Prima and Red Delicious. The skin is smooth, thick. At harvest the colour is yellow-green, sometimes with a bright red blush; later it becomes light yellow with numerous grey dots. The flesh is medium firm, greenish, juicy, of excellent sweet-tart flavor and medium aroma (reminiscent of Starking Delicious). They store in a refrigerator until April – May without dehydration.
