Apple 'Red Free'

Mālus

Back to catalogue

It is a low-vigor, compact, 3-5 m, fast-growing tree with a rounded or broadly oval crown. On a vegetative rootstock it begins to bear fruit in the 2nd year after planting. It fruits on ringlets, fruiting twigs and spurs. The fruits are medium-sized, 120-150 g, uniform in size, truncate round-conical in shape. The ground color is yellow-green; the covering color is an intense red-burgundy blush over 2/3 of the fruit surface. The skin is of medium thickness, glossy and smooth. The flesh is light cream-colored, very juicy, dense, aromatic, with an excellent sweet-and-sour flavor. Yield is high, up to 40 kg from a single mature tree, and consistent. Fruits ripen in the second half of August. They store in the refrigerator for 2 months.
