Loosestrife ephemerum

Family: Primulaceae. Native to southwestern Europe.

Herbaceous perennial up to 90 cm tall. Spreads vigorously. At the end of summer it produces flowers up to 1 cm in diameter, arranged in spike-like inflorescences. The plant is hardy to -18°C. In cultivation since the 19th century.
