Back to catalogue

Family Primulaceae. Grows in the south of Primorye, in mountain forests and on meadow slopes.

Rhizome whitish-pink, resembling that of the lily-of-the-valley, only slightly thicker. Stem erect, pubescent, leafy, reaching 90–120 cm in height. Pure white small flowers are gathered in an impressive dense spike-like inflorescence 15–20 cm long, pointed and slightly curved at the tip. Blooms from the end of July for 15–20 days. Known in cultivation since the end of the last century. Moisture-loving; prefers partial shade. Good in group plantings and for cutting. The cultivar "Lady Jane" is known — plants 60–90 cm tall, flowering in late summer.
