Appearance: a medium shrub 2-3 m high and wide, upright, with horizontal and arching branches, umbrella-shaped or funnel-shaped form of the shrub, medium- or fast-growing.

Flowers: numerous, small, pinkish, May-June, scentless.

Fruits: small, rounded, brick-red, inedible.

Leaves: emerge early, ovate-lanceolate, bluish-green.

Requirements: sun/partial shade, in shade it loses shrub density, winter-hardy, tolerates drought, undemanding, suitable for urban conditions.
